2013 State Convention

Amanda and I just returned back home from the 2013 Tennessee FFA State Convention. We had an awesome time. We got to see old friends and make new ones. We helped kids prepare for contests. We watched some great retiring addresses from the state officers. We got to see 4 inches of snow in Gatlinburg Tennessee, and most importantly we enjoyed some amazing food.

There are so many things we are proud of from this state convention. Congratulations to the newly elected 2013-2014 Tennessee FFA State Officers. We are looking forward to a great year! Congratulations to Clay County for winning state in Co-Op! Congratulations to Grant Towns from Macon County for winning state in the Creed Speaking Contest! Congratulations to the Gallatin FFA Chapter for everything they accomplished together!

My push to reach 1,000 people got swept to the side by going to state convention, and I unfortunately am still short of my goal. I will reach it soon though, and will happily set a new goal of probably 2,000 people. At State Convention, I saw over 2500 FFA members and countless advisers, teachers, and guests there learning, growing, and inspiring. This is an amazing accomplishment. These are tomorrows leaders.
