Thursday we attended the 48th National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY. I tagged along with Amanda, Mr. Walker, and the Gallatin TN FFA Chapter. It was an awesome way to spend Valentines Day with my Honey.
The NFMS is a huge event, and just keeps getting larger every year. It is housed in a 1.2 million square feet building. There were over 850 displays set up. It really is an overwhelming amount of information. I walked from 1100 to 400, and got through the majority of the show. That was with very little time inspecting machinery or talking to the reps.
This year was the first time I have been to NFMS in about three years, so I was excited to go back. Before I had always went and OOOHed and Awed at the huge tractors, combines, and planters. This year I was on a different mission. I was on a mission to find practical stuff for our farm, and a half million dollar combine currently does not fit the bill. I spent most of my time in the smaller booths. I found some great new resources and products that im excited to fit into our operation this year.
This is one of many farm shows held throughout the year, but for machinery it is one of the biggest and the best. If you have the opportunity to attend I strongly encourage you to go.
